Today's featured artist is Dan Billen. I have known him for a long time and he has always been gifted artist. Here is a look at some of his work. These are some collages he has done. His inspiration for the collages came from his work at a Mental Institution. After working there for a while taking care of the patients he became very fond of them. The Institution would not allow employees to take pictures of the patients so he decided to make collages of them. Dan used magazine clippings to create the collages which give them the effect of being made up of many different materials and textures. I love how these clippings come together in his collages which took several hours to create. You really have to take a long, close look at these collages to see all the different elements incorporated in Dan's work. If you have any questions about his work or where to find it please email us.
