Featured Artist - Richard Satava

Another nice little artist dime dropped by mi hermana, the architect. Richard Satava has some really cool designs. I personally like his jellyfish the most, they look super-dope with the lightbase at night. Most all his work is themed with sea life and beachy type stuff. Totally sneakhype.

Featured Artist - Steven E. Main

My sister used to work at a glass art studio, so she's got the leak on some of the flyest glass art on either side of the Mississippi and the Euphrates. She dropped the dime on Steven E. Main in my inbox, and I'm diggin' what she's jivin. My sis actually has the second piece pictured here. The first two works are from his Desert series, and the last two are from his Fire series. Steven's wife, Karen, also has some dope work.

Lawrence Original - Diane's Artisan Gallery

A friend of Sneakhype's, Diane's Artisan Gallery has a very unique and classy selection of fine art. We at Sneakhype are big fans of glass art, and Diane has got some great pieces. Located in Lawrence on 8th and Mass in a loft, definitely a spot for you local sneakhypers to check out if you're trying to step your game up by way of fine art, decor, and accessories.

Sneakhype on the Scene - DENVER

Sneakhype's all over the world, but as of today... we're in Denver, checkin out some spots and came across a gem de la creme shoppe called PISMO -- a fine art gallery that features mostly glass from the best artists around the world. I recently gave Lino Tagliapierta a Featured Artist post not two days ago, and what do you know, PISMO had 4 Lino orginals... each going for 50 - 60 thousand bucks. The 4 stepped pieces are from Lino, and the walled glass plates are from Chihuly. Sooo dope. They had a painting in this store going for $160,000. The combined worth of the 3 photos I took and posted here totals roughly nine hundred fifty thousand dollars. Pocket change. Check out more at pismo's site.

The Openhouse

The Openhouse is located in a narrow and sloping lot in the Hollywood Hills. the main focus of the house was the view of the landscape, having 47 movable glass panels. To balance out the glass they used stone,plaster. and oak. Its the ultimate G'd up pad.

Featured Artist - Lino Tagliapierta

Normally, I would put a few images up to show an artist that we're featuring, but I think I only need to show you one to spur your interest in one of the greatest glass blowers in the history of the universe. Lino Tagliapierta has wicked talent, but is perhaps not as well known as someone he used to teach, Chihuly. If anyone can name a glass-blower, they would probably say Chihuly, but as my sister, an interior architect and glass blower herself, puts it "Lino can kick Chihuly's weak ass." Well said, sis. Well said.
